A mural was created by Bermudan design studio Uber Super Duper to mark the 30th anniversary of St George’s Original Dancerettes.

Carla Watson, director of the dance group, said the team “loved” the performance.

The vibrant 500 square foot piece of art featuring some of the dance group members was pasted on the wall of the St George Community Center.

Ms Watson said: “I feel very honored for this gift.

“It’s well deserved – 30 years is an important step. It has actually been over 30 years but because of the Covid, things stopped in 2020.

“We try to resume training after January. The girls are very excited and eager to get together for a photo in front of the mural. “

Sami Lill, Creative Director of Uber Super Duper, said: “Working with the amazing team at the St George Community Center, we agreed on a prominent exterior wall of the dance studio that would provide the appropriate impact and would give us a chance to work with bright colors. and on a large scale to create a strong graphic impression.

“With such a huge area, we took a digital approach: creating layered vector illustrations printed in vinyl, laminated and carefully applied by hand. The Bermuda Press team were an integral part of the printing and installation.

Mr Lill says the mural took several days, adding, “We are always happy to work with murals as a medium and know there is considerable potential for more to be created around Bermuda.

“As semi-permanent facilities, they can offer long-term impact and help build community spirit. “
