BRITAIN’S Got Talent fans did a double take when the Dane Bates Collective dance troupe took the stage.
The emotional act promised to “tell stories” with their whimsical footwork and this time recreated a letter sent during the war.

It was all the more poignant given that the letter was sent by one of the dancer’s great-grandfathers to her great-grandmother, and set against the backdrop of U2’s track, With Or Without You.
Yet as they took to the stage at Britain’s Got Talent, fans felt like they had seen them before.
Eagle-eyed viewers at home remembered their time on the BBC series The Greatest Dancer, which Alesha also starred in.
One took to Twitter to praise the band, writing: “The Dane Bates Collective was on The Greatest Dancer #BGT
Our favorites tonight were… Junwoo an exceptional magician 🧙♂️ Tulgar the strongman 💪🔥 was breathtaking and the Dane Bates Collective dancers were so magical ✨💕.”

Another wrote: “Phenomenal piece by Dane Bates Collective on #BGT, showcasing the power of dance to tell a story. I think this band was on The Greatest Dancer before too – amazing choreographer!”
One was more sarcastic, noting their former TV fame, as they said: “Alesha Dixon sitting there acting like she hasn’t seen Dane Bates Collective dance to the greatest dancer before… #BGT. “
Another mused: “Isn’t that the exact same routine/idea/vision that Dane Bates Collective did in The Greatest Dancer? #BritainsGotTalent #bgt”
Calling out the choreography, one then said: “The theme sounded very similar to what the Dane Bates Collective did recently on The Greatest Dancer when they used the doors to deal with their insecurities…. #bgt”
Yet another was simply enchanted and posted, “Damn #BGT why are you doing this to me?? In tears with Dane Bates Collective telling the story of the war. So good! And a fantastic way to remember our story.”
The group was one of popstar Cheryl’s final three in The Greatest dancer.
The girls come from all over the country and were brought together to form the group by dance teacher Dane Bates.
The girl group frequently left Cheryl in tears with their routines.
Previously, once a month, they would recount how they meet in a central location – usually Liverpool – to rehearse and insist that although they come from different ends of the UK they all share a strong bond.

They then said, “We all support each other, as we don’t see each other very often, it’s so exciting when we finally meet.”
Meanwhile on BGT, fans were angered after claiming magician Junwoo Park was ‘robbed’ of a Golden Buzzer spot.
