Part List
- "The Heigren Log Splitter"
|
|
|
The booster
consists of the following components:
•
5 ton electric log
splitter, 230V (200 €).
•
Hydraulic cylinder w/20 mm piston (110 €).
•
30 mm threaded steel stick (4 €).
•
Some 30 mm nuts (4 €).
•
2 x 90 degree iron plates (4 €).
•
A few additional nuts and bolts.
•
Some JJ fittings and hoses (170 €).
The assembly is quite simple. You take the standard wood cleaver and turn
the safeguard by the operating handles and turn it upside down. This will
leave room for the hydraulic cylinder. Then you cut the base plate of the
log splitter (the piece that normally push the wood) to fit the cylinder right in
the middle. You then fixate the cylinder with the 30 mm threaded stick and
the 90 degree iron plates. The tip of the piston is fixed to the wedge in
any way that seems fit. |

The last thing is to assemble a
few fittings in the back hole of the cylinder, basically a block with an
incoming and an outgoing hose, with no-return valves on each. And voila! You
have a booster for the total cost of no more than 500 €. |
