Idea for the next project - "Log Splitter Mk2"

The next "do it yourself" booster project will probably be to upgrade the log splitter to a double version (like the one on the picture). The idea is to built in two hydraulic cylinders with different sizes. The bigger cylinder as 1st stage and the smaller as the 2nd stage. In practical terms the 1st stage will take the feed pressure and pump it into the 2nd stage cylinder that will further build up pressure before the gas enters the scuba tank. The idea is to double the boosting effect of the log splitter action utilizing an extra smaller hydraulic cylinder. The modification seems a bit more complicated than the single log

splitter. We will probably have to cut of the wedges and build a cradle for each cylinder. However, it should be possible to build it for around 900 €. If you get around to building one before us, please let us know about the result. Until then we'll be keeping an eye open for a double action log splitter on sale.
