INSPIRATION CCR INSTRUCTOR

1. Purpose

·          This Program is designed to develop qualified IANTD Inspiration CCR Instructors in a limited (Module 1) or extended (Module 2) decompression diving environment.

·          Inspiration Instructors who are OC Normoxic Trimix Instructors and Trimix Divers on CCR may teach Normoxic Trimix on the Inspiration.

·          Inspiration Instructors who are Trimix divers on the inspiration may complete the Normoxic Trimix Requirements on the inspiration provided they have 25 logged Trimix dives on CCR.

2. Prerequisite

·          Must be a qualified IANTD Advanced EANx and a qualified Inspiration CCR Diver.

·          Must provide proof of a minimum of 500 logged dives, including 100 hours on rebreathers including 50 hours on the Inspiration. If a candidate is already a instructor on another CCR they must log 25 hours on the Buddy Inspiration and have a total of 100 hours of CCR dive time.

·          Must be a minimum of 21 years of age.

4. Program Content

·          Review all academic portions of the IANTD Rebreather Diver Student Manual and the Inspiration Owner’s Manual.

·          Review IANTD Inspiration Rebreather slides and the Inspiration Handout slide set.

·          Must assist in at least two complete Inspiration CCR Programs, unless already qualified as an instructor on either a SCR or CCR, in which case, the candidate must assist in only one complete Inspiration CCR Program. At least one assist must be in conjunction with the IEC.

·          Give lectures in the actual class and demonstrate a practical teaching session to the IT’s satisfaction.

·          Supervise a minimum of 6 Inspiration Diver Program dives (may need to supervise additional dives, at the IT’s discretion) while using an Inspiration CCR. The IT may use closed circuit or OC. Any skills are at the discretion of the IT to be taken from the Inspiration Diver course. The minimum depth of these dives will be 50 fsw (15 msw).

5. Equipment Requirements

·          Must own or have unlimited access to an Inspiration CCR.

6. Program Limits

·       Adhere to all Program Limits specified in the IANTD Inspiration CCR Diver Program.

·       There may be no more than 2 students per instructor candidate.

·       The instructor candidate will use an Inspiration CCR when evaluating students.

7. Qualification Renewal

·          Same as for the IANTD Rebreather Instructor Program.

8. Waterskills Development

·          A confined water session demonstrating all skills must be completed to the Instructor Trainer’s satisfaction prior to conducting any open water dives.

·          Demonstrate skills during confined water sessions to the satisfaction of the IT.

·          Demonstrate class control to the IT’s satisfaction.

·          Complete all Waterskills listed under the Rebreather Diver Standards in Sport Diver Programs.
